Tampa Bay Rays - AL East Champions

The Rays aren't doing amazingly well so far this season, but there is time yet to climb to the top and be number 1! (Which I totally see happening. I have faith!!)

My family and I went to the Rays game on Saturday, April 18th, against the White Sox. Unfortunately, we lost that night with a score of 8-3, but we still had lots of fun! If ever you have the opportunity to go and watch a Rays game at the Trop, I SO recommend it!

Meet the Little League Players Living in the Slattery House

Brian on 2nd Base - He has gotten better at hitting recently!
His coaches are very pleased with his pitching skills
and have made him 1 of the 3 starting pitchers!

Amanda's batting has improved tons this year!

Notice the umpire - that would be Andy!

Amanda's home at 2nd base and I don't think she minds it there.

During Brian's game on Tuesday night, they must have been practicing for the Air Show that happened this past weekend. So, I got some cool pictures of the military airplanes flying overhead!

It's Baseball Time!

Little League has officially begun! At least the practices have! I'm pretty excited about this spring...Brian, Amanda, and even Andy has a team this year! Now, Andy's not playing, but he did decide to coach this year, so I think that's really cool.

Brian is on the Rays!!! That's super duper exciting for me! I just got the Rays jersey that I ordered in the mail, so now I'll be able to wear that to every game! I hear that his team should be really good this year, at least better compared to last year.
Amanda is on the Pirates again. She was less than thrilled about that, and I do have to agree that the Pirates uniform is really boring looking...and for a girls softball team, the Pirates?? Anyway, she had her first practice last night and it seemed like she has a good group of girls on her team, so that's always good! I also hear that her coaches are more dedicated than the ones she had last year too, so that makes us all happy...and maybe we can win a few games!

Andy took over a JR team this year, and he decided to call it the Orioles, I like that name! He seems to be really excited about coaching this year, and I'm very happy for him! It's nice seeing him so enthusuiastic about something! I'll also have another team to watch, if Brian or Amanda's team loses!

Personal Goals

I'm super excited cause we finally got a Wii Fit! We have been looking for them for a while, but stores ran out of stock a lot and quickly! So, Dad decided to sign up for text messages on Amazon when one was in stock, and amazingly, it didn't even take one day and they were in stock!

I'm going to be working at Camp Assurance this summer, so yes, even though I'll be on my feet a lot and active, there will be plenty of temptation around as far as food goes, ESP since I'll be working in the kitchen! So, I want to leave for camp this summer at my ideal weight, which is going to take work, because I am not an extremely motivated person, but maybe if I write about it and really start putting effort in I'll find a way to stick to it.

I have to admit, it's a little depressing to find out that my actual body age is 26...10 years older than I actually am!! That does make me want to change it, and really do good things for my body! I've started today, so hopefully at the end of 3 months, I'll be 15 pounds lighter and with a toned body! Wouldn't that be nice?!

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

I have decided that I'm going to be keeping up with my blog now, since I find writing down the events is something I don't like doing and end up putting it off! I also got a Canon XSi this past November, so I will be posting TONS of pictures too!

We've settled back into the routine of school, hard to believe I'm in the second semester of my Jr. year!!! It won't be too long before I'm a senior and then college...it's just amazing to me!

Brian and Amanda had their baseball/softball tryouts last night and they both were SOO excited to have them. Brian especially has been looking forward to baseball season again! The league is doing a complete redraft of all the kids this season, so we're not sure whose team either of them are going to be on. Brian's coach last year, Tony, has made it known to Brian that he really wants to draft him again this year, so we shall see. Tony is coaching the Rays this year, so that would be awesome for Brian to be on that team...I could get all decked out for his games!! :)

They both did pretty well in tryouts. Brian hit 2 out of his 3 balls, also fielded 2 out of 3 smoothly, and caught both flyballs that were catchable. Andy was throwing fly balls, and the first was very shallow! Amanda, on the other hand, didn't hit anything, but fielded all the balls, and only missed one flyball!

I am very excited about Little League this year! I enjoy sitting in my chair (not bleachers!) and watching them play (and Andy umpire!). Life will start to get crazy again, but that's ok, I love crazy and it gives us something to do! Here's a few pictures from last night.
